New Work — Yosemite

22 Jul

I’ve been inspired to do some new landscape paintings by my recent vacation trip to Yosemite National Park. Below is “Yosemite Falls, Summer 2017″ in acrylic on 16″ by 20” stretched canvas. This style of painting is a lot looser and “brush-y” than my usual style, but I’m liking it very much. What do you think?

I plan to post this collection soon at my Etsy shop when they are completed. Watch this space for further info.

Work in Progress

25 Apr

Here’s a photo of a painting I am doing–my first effort in oil paint on an Ampersand panel, rather than on canvas panel, gessoboard, or stretched canvas. I’ll post the finished piece when it’s done:

New Listing: U.C. Berkeley Mascot Print

7 Nov

I’ve just listed this archival giclee print of my California Golden Bear original oil painting: Giclee Print of an Original Oil Painting, Bear, California Golden Bear, University of California, Berkeley, The Lair of the Bear The original oil painting is in the collection of  my sister-in-law and her husband. It was painted in July, 2010 at Camp Gold, at the University of California’s “Lair of the Bear” Alumni Camp near Pine Crest, California. The bear statue, carved out of redwood, is the camp’s most popular landmark (maybe the **only** landmark), and represents–of course–the beloved mascot of the U. C. Berkeley football team.

The print came out pretty nice, I must say. It’s 8″ x 11″ on heavy, watercolor-type paper, vertical, with a 1/2″ border.
